NOTE: These Demos NOT FOR SALE! As you can see, there were three versions of the initial demo (cassette only). The first version was simply titled "The Final Movement" (I hadn't yet adopted the name DJ FM, because I wasn't a DJ at that point). It contained a song called "Finale" which never got past this stage, but "Finale (remix)" would evolve into "Baranquilla," with vocals added later.
There have also been several different versions of "Dreamstate." The original mix had a long intro, none of the electro-percussive elements and no snare on the backbeat. The trance mix sounds most like the one which appears on "breakup," only it uses 707 samples instead of 909 samples, and the piano line was much more minimal.
"Escape (guitar mix)" was much faster and much more hardstep than it's future counterpart on "breakup," and also contains a guitar line that just didn't work - one of those parts I just became too attached to and my producer Tom had to give me some not-so-subtle hints.
