Morton Street is a full service, multi-cultural dance school founded in 1992 to serve the metropolitan Baltimore community. The schoolís excellent and diverse staff provide instruction for every member of the family aged 3 to adult and professional level students. Its youngest students study creative movement and pre-dance which offer an introduction to both ballet and modern. Older boys and girls receive technical training in numerous disciplines, including classical ballet, modern, African, boysí movement, tap, Latin and hip hop. Modern, ballet, Latin and hip hop are available for adults.

Morton Street has received many accolades including citations and letters of commendation from Governor Glendening, Lt. Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and the State Special Secretary for Children, Youth and Families. This Spring, Morton Street entered seven pieces in a multi-state dance competition. The school won a total of seven 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for its work in African, jazz, modern and hip hop. In May, 2000 Morton Street placed second amongst the non-marching band entries in the cityís Preakness Parade.

Morton Street is located in downtown Baltimore, just off Charles Street. It is a fully equipped dance school with four dance studios. Morton Street prides itself on its professional, technical and individualized instruction designed to meet the needs of each of its students. Morton Street is directed by Donna Jacobs and Magira Ross.
