Janikka
Simms
Janikka Simms is a graduate of The Baltimore School
for the Arts and a Gold Medal winner of the NAACPís ACTSO competition
in dance. Ms. Simms received a college diploma in Choreography from
North Carolina School for the Arts. She has trained under the instruction
of Sylvester Campbell, Norma Pera, Deborah Robinson, Carolyn Dorfman,
Donna Jacobs, Hinton Battle, Richard Gain, Stephanie Powell, Richard
Kuch, Trica Casey and Magira Ross. She has danced with Philadelphia
Dance Company, ìPhiladanco.î She is the Dance Director of the Imani
Dancer at David Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Stephanie
Powell Danse Ensemble. Ms. Simms has been with Morton Street for many
years and is a principal Young Adult Company member and rehearsal
assistant to African, Repertory B, Repertory A and Ballet Pointe classes. |
